Sitting on these steps, waiting for Godot, in the shadow of Tower solid Old Guard. It is the highest point of all Portuguese cities, specifically the 1056 meters of elevation.
A gentle breeze rocks remansosamente body and soul. Water (Drizzle) and wind are strong grounds for indoor revivals. It is the space. It is the notion of time. It is the consciousness of the end.
The panorama of the Old Guard Tower
Wide horizons where it covers a vast region: North Crest Marofa and Pinhel; east raiana a sad track, with its old streets of war-rotted granite Vilar Maior (*), Villa del Toro, Tailors, the Castle Sabugal (**), Hill-Belmonte Island (**) at our feet spreads out the Guard, its medieval part is largely carried away by the mole immense Sé (**), that view from here is gigantic.
The vernacular Romanesque tower is the oldest structure of the system fortified city of Guarda and is isolated at the top of highest elevation, here would probably be south of the medieval center of town and this could well be the donjon of the primitive fortress Romanesque. Some authors go back to their construction, 1187, while others are located in about 1290. I lean to the former.
Section is pentagonal, irregular plane, built in appliance isódomo (stone of the same size). The facade integrates This portal lintel rectum resulting in a modern reformulation. In the north façade has a large portal in round arch.
In good time the council made the tower and the area around the halls of a city tour with his landscape and architectural redevelopment of the area, with construction of a reception center for visitors who want to make a call to the archaeological sites in the county and the historic city center. The space has been refurbished, but after that, have not received our visit. It is coming soon.
Impassive silence ... stillness. Close our eyes and listen to the clamor of the city, with its bustle of the province, the echo is continuous, sometimes interrupted by the screams of young school Basic 2.3 Santa Clara-I too, like them, I thought eternal; but here observe, immersed in the silence of my inner world, two teenagers to come, boyfriends, but maybe in the future are anything close to the couple, they ask me to take a picture. Now the girl, so happy, so how can we be when we are in love, asks if that is the lot Jarmelo, yes, is the local legend associated with Pedro and Inês. I would add that the other one is the Cabeço Fráguas (*), famous pagan shrine with an inscription of the Lusitanian language Lusitanian dedicated to various deities (Trebaruna, Trebopala, Reve, and Icon Laebo Luminoso). To the west, behind the wind farm, at a lower level is the Castro Tintonolho (*). Well, the boy begins to yawn, it is better to keep quiet, say goodbye, do not blame them, it is best-dating the feeling of my eternal youth to fade. Life boils down to a path through the woods, where, from time to time, debating them with forks, in which we must decide our fate. What to do? Nothing ... except wait! I ask Iccona Loiminna a good decision; (s) he can be the beacon and light to awaken my conscience aside by the effervescent color and noise of the transient.
Oh, and the scene here is wonderful.
"I belong, but that sort of men who are always on the margins of that to which they belong, not just see the crowd that they are, but also that there are large spaces on the side."
Fernando Pessoa, The Book of Disquiet. 29/03/1930
