Painted ceilings of the Town Hall de Gois (*)-Renaissance ceilings unique in Portugal

The building that currently houses the Town Hall de Gois is one of the mansions built in the seventeenth century and is notable for its richly paneled ceiling painted in Renaissance style classified as a Public Interest.
The building also known as the Farm House was owned by the family Chichorro Barreto, one of the most important town in the seventeenth century, founding a chapel in the matrix where lie some of the important members of this family. In this same church is a remarkable Renaissance tomb of Luís da Silveira (*).

The entire set has character and stands in the houses of the village of Gois.
We also mention the existence of two elegant columns, a Tuscan order and the other of the Ionic order, whose stems have great quality.

Unfortunately the ceilings are only visitable, according to availability of rooms and by appointment at the Tourist Office of Gois.
