Vilarinho Anta da Castanheira (Anta da Moura Pala) (Carrazeda Ansiães) (*)

"Anta

In Carrazeda Ansiães tapirs are two that deserve our visit: the Vilarinho Anta and Anta da Castanheira Zedes.
Tapirs are rare with good quality tourism in the district of Bragança, unlike other manifestations of prehistoric settlements as the many pre-Romanesque, some truly remarkable, too much for its landscape often associated with the river Douro. Examples are:
-The Castro Valley Eagle (Miranda do Douro) (*);
- St. John of Arribas (Miranda do Douro) (**)
To learn more about what a tapir and its significance recommend reading:
- Anta-chapel Alcobertas (Rio Maior) (**)
- Anta-Chapel of Senhora do Monte (Penedono) (**)
- Dolmen of Arcainha (Oliveira do Hospital) (*)
- Anta tenement (furnaces Algodres) (*)
- Anta's Tapadão (Crato) (**)
Carrazeda Ansiães has its heritage remarkably well and is posted on the Internet site of the Interpretation Centre Castle Ansiães we draw the text on the Anta da Castanheira Vilarinho we put almost entirely with only slight modifications.
"The tapir Vilarinho Chestnut, large, also known as the Pala Moura, part of a type often seen in the megalithic funerary architecture.

Pala da Moura Vilarinho da Castanheira 300x212 Anta de Vilarinho da Castanheira (Anta da Pala Moura) (Carrazeda de Ansiães) (*) This tapir, which no longer shows any trace of her mound, structure with a polygonal chamber consists of eight pillars which includes the slab bolster. It also has a lid and a corridor oriented east. From this primitive corridor is possible to observe four megaliths apparently still in situ.
Inside one of the anchors can perceive faint traces of a primitive pictorial composition.
Near this monument there is a mill restored and integrated in its original landscape. This is another reason that can complement your sight. "
