Good afternoon, first to congratulate Portugal notable for the excellent choices in Portugal. So many times we recall and commend those who exist outside of Portugal and we forget that we have an "Outstanding Portugal."
The Window Smells have the privilege of being located in one of the most beautiful regions of Alentejo, located in Portland, very close to Marvão, breathes an air of remarkable things rewarding.

The manager:
Patricia Venancio
Thank you for your kind words. Yesterday I opened this page and Patricia was the first to post a comment is really special.
We have actually been putting articles on notable sites in regions with less tourist flow, it is true that we lose some traffic because they are less sought after locations on the search engines, but this is our vocation.
Indeed Quinta das Velhas Gardens is located in a region with many attractions and many points of interest and has received our attention because they have been placed several articles on the counties of Marvão, Castelo de Vide ... in total there were 62 recorded Notable Places district Portalegre. And in 2012 the district will have the first World Heritage: Fortifications of Elvas (***).
The landscape, heritage, the tranquility, the gastronomy tourist accommodation and the friendliness of its people deserve to be always sold out.
If you require any cooperation Quinta das Velhas Gardens just contact us.
Dear Patricia vote for the most successful Quinta das Velhas and Gardens for your personal life.
Yours sincerely.

Hello Carlos, Congratulations on your space q. is really good for tourism, it is certain that it is still a bit incomplete but is understandable. I have followed your posts on the northeastern and now I have 3 days holiday and thanks to his texts I visited the region. I wish you direct me to the places that I visit without fail, but only want to see three or four sites per day.
Thank you
Rita
Rita really lucky because the district of Bragança has everything to make a tourist happy, leaving the impression that the region is always a feeling of tranquility with flavor (mirandesa put, is not it?).
Here then is the list of places we think are most notable in the district and convenient access.
-Citadel of Bragança (with visit to Castle Tower, Domus Municpalis and the bear totem).
-Montesinho Natural Park (via River Onor).
-Castle and Romanesque church of St. Ansiães
Castle-Algoso
-Historic Centre of Miranda do Douro
-Boat trip in Arribas do Douro (from Ash-Congida Sword Belt or the Miranda do Douro).
A-Romanesque church (one of 3-Adeganha, or Algozinho Azinhoso).
-Overview of St. John of Castro Arribas (Miranda do Douro)
Cock-Tower and Church of Ash Sword-a-Strap.
Well, if you recommend it too hot to visit and rest in the beautiful little river beach of Azibo.
As a final recommendation to nominate any one accommodation of our partners who are listed on the site.
I'm sure you'll like a lot of these places, many more might indicate, but three days more, do not give it to anyone who wants to actually visit the region calmly.
Many of these sites are described on our website if you want the text just contact me.
Good trip Rita and be happy.
The author of this space is to be congratulated for this guide and I am sure it will soon be one of the best guides in Portugal. They are the best texts on the internet that there is cultural tourism.
I can only spend a day in Coimbra, from early morning till night, which I recommend to see in so little time.
Thank you
I am sorry that his friend has only one day to visit Coimbra, but I hope that in later to give your ride, come back certainly.
The way that I propose is as follows: stationary car with the car in Green Park on the left and pass the magnificent Pedro and Ines Footbridge (the Park Green River Mondego is remarkable (*).
In the morning
Parque Verde do Mondego (*)-Santa Cruz Monastery (***)-Manga Garden (*)-go back and go to lunch downtown Coimbra, through Square Trade (*)
After lunch
Tower Almedina (*)-Break up the stairs of the House Sub-Back-Strips (*)-Tower of Anto-Cloister of St. Augustine's College (*) (Department of Psychology)-ascent to the Old Cathedral (** *) cryptoporticus-Roman Museum Machado de Castro (**)-New Cathedral (***), and finally visit the top of the hill sacred to the University of Coimbra (and here not to lose the Baroque Library (***) the Chapel of St. Michael (***), the tower of the University (**) and Hall of Capelos (***).
Then if you still have time to finish their ride in the Forest and Botanical Garden (***), also passing by Arcos Garden (*)
I'm sure Anthony will be very happy in a passenger ride.
Many other wonders of Coimbra will like to see: the Monastery of Santa Clara a Velha Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Nova, Portugal Pquenitos the street from Sofia, Monastery of Cells ... Here you can read a link to the listing of the wonders of Coimbra
Visit the districts of Belmonte and Almeida
Good morning Carlos.
On return from my trip end-to-week, step to take note of my opinion, as promised:
Belmonte: I was delighted with the village. Beautiful, with fine old houses restored, Really clean, friendly people (many tourists - domestic and foreign, which is a good sign). I visited almost all, with calm and I was impressed with the investment that has been being done by local authorities in museums (supported by EU funds). The Museum of Discovery (interactive) is spectacular.
I felt sorry for not being able to enter the synagogue (Friday and Saturday are special days), but patience, I will see others elsewhere.
Castle beautiful, well maintained.
A location to recommend to friends who like this kind of ride.
I stayed at the Inn (nice but nothing special) - continues to believe that the price / quality of B is not a reference, but I accept that there are people who enjoy the genre and is willing to pay more for them. However I think it would do well to cut prices to attract more guests because they do not justify the cost against the offer, but of course it is just an opinion like so many others.
ALMEIDA - it was my first priority. Much like the fortress of Valencia enjoyed meeting but has nothing very special, but I like to know Belmonte excited me more.
CASTLE MENDO - I only have a say. A must see. I was delighted with the location, how the recoveries were made, cleaning .... And the silence. Only one small criticism of the municipality or entity that is tourism. Do not cost much to have some arrows indicating to guide and suggest the visit, because although a map attached to the entry with the key points indicated, then we get a bit lose ourselves (although, given the size of the village, we can always go back and try to find points of reference.
I was very lucky because being the closed churches saw an open and entered. There was a lady with the beautiful age of 88 years (almost 89) to show the church to another visitor. By way of talking deduce immediately that would have been a teacher and in fact later confirmed that having been born in Castelo Mendo always lived there and had been the primary teacher of the locality.
Extremely friendly, talkative and knowledgeable, gave us a full explanation of all, brought us to another church, wanted to show one of the doors of the village that is hidden by a court of cattle built by one of the locals (I think called it " door of treason "and not in the official brochure) - Located next to the part of the wall sent to D. Diniz which remains part of the wall time D. Sancho, according to the information.
Then, seeing our interest and in response to a question about the passage of Jews by the town, told us that in the home of a family member had an area carved stone that according to information from a knowledgeable now that there was a former site in a Jewish home where they kept the instruments of worship (no other word comes to mind - corresponding to the cup for the consecrated hosts in the Catholic religion). It is a sort of alcove, all in stone, with sides and worked two sections (shelves) which would place these instruments of worship.
I return in Celorico Beira to visit family and went to the Castle (now go to Celorico back some 30 years but only visited once - either way, though not anything special, I like to see that is well treated and recovered.
I renew my thanks for your help, which proved crucial as it allowed me to monetize the time available.
Greetings
