Panorama in the barrage of Bemposta / Cardal the river Douro (Mogadouro)

The dam of Bemposta in Mogadouro county and located in the Douro International Natural Park, is impressive and deserves our attention, but the landscape is more downstream attracts us because here the Douro River runs through the original on his bed. Here the river slowly glides among small boulders, riparian forests and sandy beaches. This small stretch of about 2km reconstructs the original landscape of the Douro as amended, for over 30 years with the construction of five hydroelectric International Douro (Miranda do Douro, Picotee, Bemposta, and Aldeadávila Saucelhe).
This viewpoint is observed on the Spanish side the mouth of the river Tormes born on Sierra de Gredos, passes through Salamanca (*****) and flows here.

In the territory Bemposta Dam on the river Douro is less due to its rugged schist lithology, vineyards and olive groves give rise to wine and olive oil of excellent quality, which somehow can still have a better development. From this area the river Douro is to go back a valley encased in granite.
