Are open to the solar incidence and were subject to different artistic expressions, where the combination of colors such as red, Laranja on e of flow, associated with natural roughness and rust shades of stone molded by different techniques, human representations, animals, astral and geometric.
In Lapa dos Gaivões discovered in 1916, framed by a beautiful natural setting can be observed:
-Animals, one human figure hunting with a bow or tie, accompanied by a canid Chasing various cervids; a small panel (perhaps the most photographed) representing a human heroificado helmet with horns, flanked by two anthropomorphic figures headless.
-If the animal paintings allow various interpretations even more mysterious are the panels where geometric representations occur; a panel such as a human figure that shows the associated headless 4 rows of 7 Vertical lines.
In Lapa dos Gaivões one feels an conotável ceremonial ambience with shamanic cults. All this set seems to treat yourself to an ancient shrine Neolithic, whose toponym Louções, name the saw locally acquired, refer to light, ie sacred manifestations, maybe I'm exaggerating, but what is certain is that this is all a great mystery surrounded by a magnificent and serene landscape.
I guess, in the near future, the creation of a Centre of Interpretation of these 6 cores of rock art and other "surprises" that may still emerge in this beautiful region, coordinated by Jorge Oliveira and with this we get with a text taken directly from the brochure Lapa dos Gaivões.
